Greg Daniels, producer of "The Office," confirmed that Steve Carell will not be joining the farewell episode. He revealed that the May 16 finale will be patterned after the original British version where there will be a reunion of the characters after they become famous as reality TV stars. The show is coming to an end after 8 years. Its viewership has suffered after Carell left in 2011, dropping from from 8 million per episode to 5 million this year.
